Seedling

Tomatoes, red, yummy and delicious form a very important ingredient of our day to day food. Growing tomatoes is considered as a very tough job by many. But, in reality it is one of the easily accomplished jobs and a very delightful one too. People may use 1.seeds or 2.seedling or 3.small tomato plants from nurseries to start their tomato growing adventure. [click to continue…]

While choosing the crops to be planted, it is important to choose the varieties which are appropriate for the growing season and have a potential of healthy growing, high productivity and long shelf-life. The appropriate sowing time for tomato changes depending on the growing environment and region. [click to continue…]

Post image for Pruning of Peach Trees

Gobble pruning, also known as Calyx-shaped pruning, is the most commonly used technique for orchard-raised peach trees. Peaches grown in this manner must be topped, meaning that the top branch must be removed and the crown built on 3-4 main branches. Continuous pruning is necessary requirement for all peach trees, so gobble pruning must be executed 19 inches above the trunk so that it ultimately simplifies the work of pruning, thinning and pest combat.web-correct-pruning-cut

Although calyx-shaped pruning is used for peach trees, a modified leader system also affords successful results and is generally preferred for many peach species. In this scenario, the tree tops must be cut by 39 inches.

Seedlings with a scale of 0.5 – 0.6 inches are used. 3-4 weeks after plantation, 4-5 lateral roof branches (that are not overlapping each other) must be selected while the others are removed. The first branch should be situated 1 – 1.5 inches above soil level and the distance between the branches should be 6 inches. If the seedling has an ample amount of strong lateral branches, 1-2 of them can be shortened with a little cut on the top.pruning2

At the end of the second growth period, peach tree need to be pruned slightly. Each lateral branch endangering the development of each leader branch should be shortened by the outer buds.

In the third growth period, a slight degree of pruning should be executed. 2-3 proper branches from thepruning roof branches should remain untouched while the others are removed. The top parts can be cut slightl080321121657-largey toward the outside, bearing in mind that a severe cutting is not preferred. Tangled and steep growing branches need to be removed. If the roof is well-established, the tree will be bent toward the side which ultimately prevents the development of the leader branch.

In the fourth growth period, once again, a slight degree of pruning should be executed. In order to prevent the formation of flowers and fruit, aggressive pruning should be avoided in this period. Crowded buds on the trunk can be rarefied. The leader can be weakened at this time, particularly if it has not grown in the previous year.

Because peach trees generate flowers on horizontal buds, the trees should be pruned in a way that enables the formation of sound and long buds. It is important to prune peach trees within the yield period each and every year, otherwise the tree rapidly develops in an upward and sideward direction.

Post image for The Protected Cultivation of Peppers

Peppers are an important vegetable in that they contain high calorie value, Vitamin C and plentiful mineral substances. Pepper cultivation covers a 15% area of total greenhouse vegetable cultivation. Protected pepper cultivation is generally done in a single crop during the spring seasons. As tomatoes suffer from a higher percentage of viruses during the fall season, spring is the preferred season to grow peppers. In greenhouses, registered varieties or varieties with production permits (as well as hybrid seeds) are used. The first requirement for success in pepper cultivation is to choose the variety most appropriate for the season and then set out to grow healthy and robust seedlings. [click to continue…]

Post image for The Protected Cultivation of Eggplant

Eggplant varieties grown in greenhouses are expensive because they are generally hybrid eggplants. Therefore, healthy seedlings should be generated without harming the seeds. Drilling can be done either by scattering the seeds into boxes by hand (under appropriate temperatures) or by using the row planting system.

After drilling, the area must be covered with compost screened to 1/5 inch particles. Plants should be kept out of [click to continue…]

Post image for Types of Fruit Seedlings and Planting Times

Generally square, quadrangle, chess and triangle planting are applied to flat areas. In sloping areas, contour planting is applied parallel to terrace curves. Let’s learn how to mark our seedling locations, dig seedling holes, plant our seedlings and understand the optimimum plantation times.

First: Marking Seedling Locations and Digging Seedling Holes

A space the length of half a tree should be left from the edge of an orchard and once this is accomplished, seedling markers should be placed along this edge, thereby marking each row. Because stroke sticks will be lost during digging, new sticks should be inserted on both sides of the planting board, enabling you to remove the marking sticks entirely.

A planting board commonly measures 59 inches long by 4-6 inches wide and seedling holes generally measure 20-27 inches (with a depth of 20-27 inches). The top soil and ground soil removed from the hole should be placed separately. It is more effective to dig holes prior to plantation so the soil can benefit from adequate aeration.

Seedlings must be pruned before plantation – this process is referred to as ”plantation pruning.”  Seedlings can be prepared by trimming off any roots that are crushed, broken and damaged during the digging process. Tangled roots should be separated and extra-long roots should be trimmed off. All of these necessary steps ensure that each seedling can take on the desired form.

While planting a seedling, it should be placed onto a planting board  so that the hole on the planting board will be in visual range.

The vaccination location of the seedling can then be inserted into the hole and filled with soil.

By initially mixing the soil with fertilizer, the top soil and ground soil can then become intermingled. Be sure to tamp the soil down firmly during while watering the seedlings.

Plantation Time of Seedlings:

Autumn plantation is highly recommended for seedlings because weather conditions are traditionally less severe — additionally, soil does not freeze at such superficial levels. On the other hand, spring plantation is quite dangerous and you may run the risk of stunting the rooting rate of your seedlings.

Post image for Orchard Building

Fruit trees can live many years in an orchard that has been planted using the proper soil along with various other considerations. Incorrect applications during the building stage may trigger negative consequences for many years, which is especially unacceptable when the product that is lost is important both for producer and the national economy. The climate is a particularly important factor for fruit seedlings to root, grow, produce fruit, generate crops regularly every year and offer diversity of variety types. Depending on the fruit type and variety, plant materials have many distinct requirements (such as climate conditions) that must be considered carefully.
